We are therefore committed to being a driving force for climate‑ and environmentally friendly solutions, both locally and nationally.
Stokkøya Strandhotell will propose and deliver climate‑ and environmentally friendly solutions to our guests, colleagues, local community, and other stakeholders.
Stokkøya Strandhotell is an organization with routines and training programs for employees to ensure compliance with all legal requirements, regulations, and high standards. With a desire for continuous improvement, we involve all our employees in this work and encourage our customers to help us take care of the environment around us.
Our goal is to make our hotel, our restaurant, and our services increasingly climate‑ and environmentally friendly, and to actively seek new and innovative solutions to minimize negative environmental impacts.
Our long‑term goals are:
- To be a driving force for climate‑ and environmentally friendly solutions in the tourism industry
- To promote circular solutions wherever possible — by minimizing waste, making full use of raw materials, using leftovers from food preparation for compost and other practical purposes, choosing repair and reuse, and when relevant, refurbishing or repurposing furniture and textiles
- To proactively choose products with a long lifespan
- To preserve and nurture biodiversity and vegetation, and to protect natural wild growth in the surrounding environment
- To reduce consumption, conserve, and recycle water
- To continue providing training and development for our employees, guests, and partners within climate and environmental practices
These goals and commitments are also included in other guidelines, rules, and instructions. Our climate and environmental guidelines should also be viewed in connection with our ethical guidelines, and the implementation of these guidelines is described in our business plan.
Stokkøya Strandhotell supports and is committed to international initiatives such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
